Actualizing Equity: Who Speaks for the Neighborhood?
Monday, July 9th, noon – 1:30 pm
611 E Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55404
True community engagement requires organizations to dedicate time, energy, and resources to building meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships. Within this framework, communities are respected as experts who define the problems, design the solutions, and evaluate the outcomes.
Join us to discuss how folks are challenging systems that reinforce the status quo and creating accessible spaces, projects, and processes that allow community members to feel welcomed as their full selves.
The 2018 Actualizing Equity Series will dive into each section covered by Our A.R.E.A.: the Alliance’s Regional Equity Agenda, a living document that outlines visions and strategies for the development of a just, equitable Twin Cities region. Local leaders will join us in exploring and discussing the ways a number of issue areas intersect with the rich identities and historical struggles of our communities.
Space is limited – please RSVP here.
PLEASE NOTE that this is a Brown Bag Lunch Series. We will provide snacks, but you’re welcome to bring yourself a full meal.
