The Alliance is thrilled to welcome David Trinh to our staff as the new Operations Coordinator.
As he joins our team, David reflects on his work, what brings him to The Alliance, and his vision for the future:
“I am honored to join this team as the Operations Coordinator, where I can channel my passion for public health, grassroots capacity-building, economic development, and education into meaningful action. My journey has been shaped by a deep belief that strong communities start with strong foundations—from effective organizational infrastructure to equitable access to resources and opportunities.
As a first-generation American, I have seen firsthand how public programs, advocacy, and policy change can transform lives. My experiences navigating these systems have fueled my commitment to ensuring that organizations—especially those serving historically underrepresented communities—have the tools, capacity, and sustainability to continue their vital work. I specialize in data, logistics, public programming, and operational strategy to help organizations not just survive, but thrive and lead.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of developing grassroots projects, securing funding, and managing grants and contracts that directly uplift individuals and families. My work spans across different state/county/city entities such as: Minnesota department of health, Human Services, Natural Resources, Hennepin County, and City of Minneapolis. Initiatives revolving around mental health advocacy, sustainability, environmental preservation, economic development, and education. At the heart of it all is a commitment to equity, representation, and building spaces where every voice is valued and heard.
A Vision for the Future
I believe that the work we do today isn’t just for us—it’s for those who come after us. We stand on the shoulders of organizers, advocates, and community leaders who fought for the rights, opportunities, and progress we benefit from today. I want to continue that fight—to lay the groundwork for a future where access to education, economic opportunities, and essential resources aren’t privileges, but guarantees.
True progress happens when we work together, uplift one another, and challenge the systems that no longer serve us. I hope to be seen not only as a leader, but as a collaborator, ally, and advocate for meaningful, lasting change. My approach is deeply rooted in compassion, authenticity, integrity, and patience—because when we build with these values at the center, we create something that will stand the test of time.
Beyond Work
Outside of my professional work, I live for the moments that push my limits and connect me to the world around me. Whether it’s climbing (bouldering, sport climbing, ice climbing), or immersing myself in nature, I find strength in the challenges that require resilience and adaptability. I also dedicate time to bodybuilding and coaching, helping others define their own paths to strength, health, and confidence.
I am also a strong advocate for AAPI representation in data and policymaking, ensuring that our stories, struggles, and successes are accurately represented. We deserve to see ourselves reflected in the systems that shape our lives, and I am committed to making that a reality.
I am thrilled to contribute my skills and passion to this work and look forward to building connections, strengthening organizations, and shaping a future where equity, sustainability, and empowerment are not just ideals—but realities.”
