For more than 30 years, the Alliance has been meeting moments of threat and opportunity with the power of coalition organizing. As we look to 2026, we have a unique opening to unlock transformative investments for our communities — and we need your support.
The Alliance builds power at the intersection of racial justice and community development by building coalitions with over 30 organizational members and nearly 50 partner organizations in five coalitions across the Twin Cities region. Collectively, we are advancing regional equity by:
- Fighting for housing justice: from passing renters’ rights policies at the state level with our Equity In Place coalition, to fighting for tenant opportunity to purchase in Minneapolis in the Housing Justice League, to regranting a quarter million dollars to local housing organizations through our Stable Ground program.
- Resisting displacement: our Blue Line Coalition’s advocacy led to the appropriation of $10M from the state legislature to invest in legacy residents, small businesses, and BIPOC communities along the planned Blue Line LRT extension corridor through North Minneapolis and the Northwest suburbs. The coalition contributed to the publication and adoption of antidisplacement policy recommendations, and the formation of the community-led Anti-Displacement Board.
- Empowering BIPOC small businesses to shape the future of Minnesota’s economy through our Business Resource Collective.
- Advancing environmental justice: as members of the Coalition for Clean Transportation, we push the state to expand electrification, ensure access to clean transit, and reduce environmental and public health harms caused by fossil fuels.
- Expanding the field of regional equity through our Actualizing Equity event series, the Equitable Development Scorecard, participating in and convening local and national panels, and publishing The Link newsletter.
Please Give To the Max to The Alliance and our partners (who can be found via each link) to support our continued work to build the thriving communities Minnesotans all deserve.
Together, we can meet this moment of opportunity and advance community-defined equity, vitality, and prosperity across the Twin Cities region. If you can, please make a donation today that is meaningful to you.
Thank you,
—
